central ND/SD border | For non-grid sampling, I've wondered if it is better to have someone with no knowledge of the field to get a more random sample.
I've been over my fields enough times in the tractor and the combine, that I know the good spots, the bad spots, the looks-like-it-should-be-good-but-isn't spots, the "how does it grow that good here every year" spots, the hard as rock spots and the soft spots.
I try to hit all of them, but best science is done by researchers that are "blind." | |
