don't know anything about layers but we have plenty of broilers in area. A house that holds around 26,000/ flock will produce 100 -150 tons per year per house in crust out and up to about of 400 -500 tons if you do a total clean out once every 3- 5 yrs or so, so I would agree with others the 1,440 tons/yr sounds really high.
