been water management. Both with tile drainage and from irrigation. This will continue to be the largest single factor effecting crop production. Less than half of all farm land has proper systematic drainage or irrigation where needed.


Running the water into rivers downstream is not sustainable. Changing crop rotations and keeping a living root at all times is sustainable.
