We do not know, and cannot guess what the big break through will be.
Time travel back to 1940 and ask the farmers what breakthrough they think will give them 300 bu Corn.
Expect to get laughed out of the Grange Hall.
They cannot envision GMO, nor Glyphosate, nor 12/24/36/48 row tools, nor 6000 bu/hr combines, and on, and on.
Nor can we envision what will be the big thing 50 years from now.
