Allen County, Kentucky | Spent two Thanksgivings in Chu Lai. I have a tiger story also. I was in a 80 foot tall guard tower on the perimeter. One of the bunkers sensed movement and asked us to light up the area with our spotlight. Sure enough a Bengal tiger. More than one Marine opened up on it. We couldn't find it in the daylight, but did find blood. I always hoped that it went and ate some villagers in the friendly village that was always sending rounds and rockets are way. We weren't allowed to return fire. | |
