Here's a NAT thread on stock talk from September on lime.

Note the Pioneer graph down in the thread aways showing the difference in fertilizer availability with different soil pH.

For example compare the availability to the plant of phosphorus at pH of 5 vs pH of 6... that a lot of dollars worth of P (along with a lot of other nutrients) freed up with not too many dollars of lime.

There are some pics of lime being spread on one of my pasture/hay fields.
