Sanilac Co. Michigan | Why not spring barley? That's about the only type grown up here, and I think it's more typical for malting than winter barley. Comes off a little later than winter wheat, goes in early, around the same time as oats, and if managed can run 100 bu. Seems like is was priced about like corn. TDN is about equal to corn, little lower energy, little higher protein. Makes some pretty good cattle feed. Bowers seems to be the variety of choice for feed barley. | |
