Subject: RE: Alternating rows of corn and beans

it's easier than you would think, especially since the advent of Roundup Rdy & LL crops. spread potash for both, and then put the N & P on through the planter and/or sidedress?

personally, i don't have the technology that allows me to plant higher pops on the outside rows in the corn, but i've still seen a very workable bump in yield vs. solid corn? plus, the corn will stand wind much better in the strips.

and believe it or not, planted on rows running N & S, i have seen no yield loss on the beans next to the corn, really the opposite as the beans manage to pull the extra nutrients i suppose from the outside corn rows?

i haven't gone full force into stripping C & S, but have been experimenting with it on a decent amount to realize their is good potential. GPS is a must & i believe it holds a lot of the keys that will allow this system to really shine.
