Subject: RE: side dump trailer pulled by farm tractor?

Sunnyside, WA
We have a 37 yard side dump made specifically for a farm. Was a 3 axle, but constantly breaking hubs while turning. Dropped tires on back axle and run it as a tandem. Used to tip it over a lot, but added more counter weights. Have welded quite a few cracks in the tub. Was a cheap setup when we pulled it with a JD 4840, but it wore that tractor out. Now pull it with a JD 8410 or 8420 so it has become a lot more expensive when you consider hours on those tractors.

The side dump has worked, but I think my next upgrade will be to a industrial 6x6 articulated dump truck

Here is the link to our side dump. We have a 28' triple axle
