Tell us your plan, what crop, the nutrient requirements, and the cost of both fertilizers.

Ammonium sulfate is only 21% N.

This will be the highest cost fertilizer you will ever apply. You already know that.


Have you priced liquid infurrow fertilizer? That's the highest priced fert you can buy per lb of nutrient.

In 100# of AMS there is 21# of stable nitrogen that can lay on top of the ground just fine. Also 24# of sulfate sulfur that is ready for the plant.

The plane will add cost but what other options do you have other then let it go? ideally we would like to get our soils to hold more nitrogen longer but that's not going to happen over night.
