Photos do show symptoms similar to metolachlor injury. The elephant in the room is the soil pH. Soybeans need near neutral pH. Problems caused by low pH are several but several areas in the Southern Plains it is aluminum toxicity as well which is caused by low pH. If you are going to grow soybeans there in the future you will need to correct the soil pH before you address(spend $) on anything else.
