SESD | If you don't need to replace anything else, get some spray lube and spray the housings where the shafts spin/run through. Lube the chain and lube the threads, not grease. I really like Fluid Film for stuff like this. Also, I spray mine down with diesel/oil mix a couple times a year. But, for starters, just work with it a little. Maybe even replace the chain first and see if that helps much.
I agree, JD kind of screwed the pooch on the design of these meters and housings, but I don't want to drop a large sum of cash to upgrade to new parts of the same crap unless necessary. | |
