I don't know of a kit, but I converted my 1900 from the double-shoot manifolds to single shoot. I just had my local dealer order in the parts to do it. It wasn't cheap, but I think it was worth it.
The 1900 single shoot meter bottom cover is held on by large wing nuts, not a latch like the 1910.
I'm with you...I hated the beveled gear/bicycle chain contraption.
Now, if they would just fix the half-width cut offs and the cleanout doors...
