They over did the pop. 44k is the breaking point for even the best high pop hybrid in narrow rows. I have been playing with high pops for 15 years. I have learned the hard way what works and what triggers down corn.   I had to buy a corn head reel about 7 years ago. It takes really good levels of K +cu+man to keep 40k+ pops standing.  I am on 30" twins.
