South Central NE | You use the word "reputable" and that indicates to me that you believe they are on financially solid ground. The only point I was making is that you had better know they are reputable whether they are a coop or merchandiser because if there is a problem you will be at the bottom end of the creditors. We sell a lot of grain to Scoular and I even get nervous when they haul from the farm direct to an end user because if it doesn't cross their scale I am not sure their bond coverage applies to a loss. I do not know if NE has any protection fund in place if an elevator or end user goes broke. Maybe someone else can tell us. And yes, 1234, you are exactly right about DP contracts... Good luck | |
