Southwest Illinois | Elevator did that east of us about 10 years ago. Free DP on wheat. Guys hauled it in and the elevator went down and was supposed to be a great financial state. IL Grain fund got guys some money back but it was pennies on the dollar. When an elevator or terminal offers free DP they aren't doing it for your benefit. Terminal around here likes to do that to get the elevator fills up then they hammer the basis once they get full. It's not always a bad deal but I would sure be careful. | |
