We went with the "solid surface" for our new counter tops and we are happy with it. It is similar to the old Corian product, It is more expensive than laminates but less than granite and stuff like Caesar Stone. We got ours from Lowes and their contractor did the install. If you are a veteran the 10% discount and Lowes and Home Depot is nice on big orders like this.
