Are you doing this yourself? Or someone else doing it or you? What I would do( Have a Plow): two eights, one a little over one third of the way acrossed the 40 and the other one around 3/4 of the way with the rest 6".
This gives you plenty of size and if you are doing it yourself, with a plow, it is much easier to pull an 8" boot over a 10" boot.
