We have lots of clay tile on flat ground. The clay works as well and in some places I think it works better than plastic. As far as your clay filling up, I don't understand that and I can't believe they are all plugged. As others have said, check your main to see if it is clean and for fall. If that is right you can save a ton of money. If it isn't you are just wasting money. If it were me, I would hire a reputable contractor to diagnose the problem and go from there. I would split them if your old system can be saved.
