East central Indiana | Dad went hydraulic drive when he ordered a new 12 row in summer of 87. Never looked back. Also went vacuum. We've always liked the ability to change pops anytime instantly. Other than that we've never really utilized them. We just finished our first season ever with vra corn planting. Seems to be decent well see if there's a yield difference. We built our 8 row patch planter this winter that is finger pickup and ground drive. I can see how it's really simple but I'd like to adjust replant pops some but couldn't because I wasn't gonna chance screwing up the transmission and get only 15k when I was wanting 25k. I was already set for 32k so I just dealt with it. I think hydraulic drives are worth it even with some problems. | |
