im thinking of adding a beacon to a tractor we have the beacon comes with a switch. can the beacon be turned on when I turn on the flashers or can the beacon be only turned on by the switch supplied with the kit?

You can have it come on with the flasher switch if you want. You will want a normally open single poly single throw relay (4 prong) that you can get at any auto parts store. Get a mountable one if you can, makes life easier.  Find a good power source and use the proper size wire and fuse for what the beacon will draw. Mount the Relay in that area if you can. Send the power from the fuse to prong 30. Then find the wire coming from the flasher switch that is energized when the switch is activated. Send this power to prong 86 on the relay. Wire your beacon to prong 87 on the relay and wire prong 86 to a good ground.  Now whenever you switch the flasher on your beacon will come on as well and no circuits will be overloaded and starting fires.

If the beacon has an integral rocker switch or something just leave it on 24/7
