Center,CO | Thanks for the thoughts. We have drops and on pivots as low as possible, we use iwobs, and are experimenting with going to 30 inch centers and bubblers or ldn sprays. We are limited on pumping because it is now tied to our surface water rights and we now have to buy water and our irrigation season is determined by someone sitting in a office. Wheat has just been mainly a rotation crop for alfalfa and that is why i am looking at deficit irrigating and still getting a decent enough yield to pay for some expenses but then use my water credits from that quarter to irrigate other alfalfa ground. The other thing is we have a rapidly declining aquifier which makes lot of renozzling and adjusting during season. Brad i did talk to your dad awhile back.
