Subject: Irrigating an odd shaped field

IA
Hello, have a land owner that has a odd shaped 40 that he wants to water for next year. The field is roughly 1600' east to west and 1000' north to south. Too long east/west for a pivot and i imagine a pivot for just a forty would be expensive per acre. What about leveling it with scrapers and flood irrigating it? Does a guy have to ridge it to flood it? I know a little about pivots but nothing about flood irrigation. Thanks
