Been running pivots since back in late 70's and early 80's, here where we are located it is dry most of the time compared to corn belt boys, I like to complete a circle every 7 to 10 days. Once we start they are NOT shut off until late september or until it has rained GOOD, only shut down to service engines an or maybe a breakdown. I have some alfalfa circles and they will run slow as the timers will let it walk. Geographic location will have changes in irrigating techniques , soil types, crops , etc. Most years our sprinkler systems will get 3700 to 4200 hours of use . So far for the year it has rained almost 4'', drought sucks .
