| Do you want to monitor the yard or just make it so that you get a face pic if they break in the front door? What's the budget? This is a complex problem. I think I'd go with PIR motion detectors inside with a DVR capable of emailing snapshots from the indoor cams when the PIRs get set off. That way you've got some pics of who broke in, trashed the house, and stole the DVR without a million false positive motion detection warnings from flies, spiders, clouds covering the sun (yes that sets off CCTV motion detection when the cams are inside), possibly passing headlights on the street at night, etc. Not sure what the driveway setup looks like, but a cam set up for catching license plates of people who come and go would be great. You're probably considering just two indoor cams though right? If simple is what you want, then putting up a couple of cellular trail cams inside the house might be a good bet.
