| We pull our 16/31 kinze with a Magnum 7250 FWA. Our ground is regular Kansas terraced upland with no hills. Pulled it in 2011 with our JD 4650 FWA. Pulled it great. I think weight is the main issue as I'd bet our 4440 would pull the planter fine, but the Magnum and the deere have the draw bar strength to support the heavy planter. I may note we use a 2pt hitch on our planter to keep out of the terraces. I don't think the 4440's 3pt or drawbar could handle the weight. They are good simple planters and don't require the hydraulic capacity some of the other planters need, giving you the option of using an older tractor on them if needed. | |
