Subject: Quickbooks vs. Xero

Hertford, NC
Has anyone had any experience with Xero accounting software? We are in the process of upgrading our PC based office to Mac. Our older single user Quickbooks will have to be upgraded and I am looking at options before I write the seventh or eighth check to Intuit for an upgrade. I would sure like to be able to take advantage of being able to have multiple users access the accounting software simultaneously, but I can't decide which is the lesser of two evils. I have reservations about using an internet based accounting program from a reliability and privacy perspective, but I am also not wanting to be limited to performing multi-user operations only while my laptop is on my home network. We have been using Quickbooks for about 15 years and are quite comfortable with it, but some of this new stuff may just be what we need. Any ideas?
