You are correct, but bharzman is only wanting to freeze the data on the left - freezing the pane would be the quicker and easier way.

Assuming that "Field - Legal - Acres" are in cells A1 - B1 - C1, you want to place the cursor in D1 and use Window->Freeze Panes. This will force D column, E column, etc to scroll under C column when you scroll to the right.
