NW Missouri | Did you punch cards at Lefevre Hall? I too spent many an hour working on my thesis in that first floor room with many others. Always groaned when the "engineers" would bring in cart of boxes and boxes of cards. Most of my work was with SAS but also did some in PL1 and FORTRAN. Kids that work for me now can't even comprehend punching cards. If I recall 640 K was pretty standard in memory and anything bigger required some additional cards. It seemed we spent hours upon hours waiting for the outputs only to find a single semicolon or letter missing and it was back to the drawing board...er.. punch machine.
