Eastern NE KS | I too prefer CED for a measure of one bull's calving success over another bulls. Old school thoughts on bull customers don't change very quickly. Back when we had Simmi bulls for sale, i wished I could focus on CED but customers would not go there.
Mentioning Schu-Lar, did you ever meet Stan Larson? He was my FFA advisor. About 10 years ago Stan had a group of Hereford cattle at the Topeka Farm Show. My take away was the udder quality on the 2 lactating Hereford cows. Good level suspension and small teats. Those cows nailed that phenotype. It was very different from the registered and commercial Herefords of my youth. | |
