If you've recently installed Office 365, or Windows 11, you might find that Office starts saving your files to OneDrive by default. This is one of Microsoft's recent changes to increase your dependence on them and their servers.

I have a new mid range HP computer and it came with Win 11. I installed Chrome and the Libre Office Suite but not Office 365. I have also installed the Arduino IDE. I believe you are correct since I have noticed that at least some of my documents and some other data files are being stored in the OneDrive subfolder.

Since I have plenty of "space" on my internal and external hard drives, I should probably force these documents to be saved locally instead of on their cloud. I suppose in case of a fire or something where my computer and external hard drive were both destroyed, having the data in the cloud could be helpful.
