It's actually nice when someone sets up a basic spreadsheet to give you ideas, then leaves it unprotected so you can modify it to your taste. Sometimes, I'll protect a sheet but rarely will I put a password on it. I'm going after safety, not protecting my intellectual property. I do get my revisions backed up fairly quickly so I can usually get back to an old version if I screwed up something.
