Aggieland | Thinking about buying a new truck before year end because of some of the deals available but my cpa said I don’t need any more write offs this year. Can I buy the truck this year but not put it “in service” until next year and be able to take full deduction next year?
Wouldn’t this be the opposite of the rule that even if I buy it this year but it’s not in service this year I can’t write it off? I’m asking to buy it this year, not put it in service til next year and leave all my depreciation options open for next year.
These are the things I ponder while I’m couped up on pain pills due to herniated disc in my back and my cpa is closed til next year! Lol
