I'm on a "old house" page on Facebook, and yesterday a house popped up there that really intrigued me. It's in Carmel, Indiana, sits on 13 acres of "estate" on West 116th Street and is better than 24,000 sq ft of house. 

Can anyone in that area tell me anything about the history of the house? I'm sure as the dickens not buying it, but was just curious about all the who/what/why of such a construction. The interior pictures are absolutely stunning......would be fun to see in person, but that's not happening either.
