Subject: Light ground and corn maturity

Saranac, Michigan
As a general question what would be better for light ground, shorter or longer day corn? We had good pollination but our June and July drought really did the number on yield. We had plenty of rain in August and September with late frost.

We had one field that was planted May 28th that had a lot of ears that looked like milk bottles. The butt end would look very good but the last 1/3 had all immature kernels. Maybe that field had other issues?
