Western Illinois | Just a couple quick questions for you guys. We Ai'd our best cows last year to some really nice/expensive bulls from Musgrave Angus and Werning Cattle Company. I ended up with 2 bull calves that I thought early on may hold promise for a potential herd bull. As they go through there growth stages there are days that I think they would still make good replacements and days when they grow frame that they need to be cut. Im not looking for top dollar out of them but was considering doing what Jim does as far as using them a year and then selling or just selling for say $500 over what they would bring as a steer. They were born the end of January so my question is how old is getting too late to get them castrated. If they end up being steers they will go in our feedlot. Thanks.
