Coastal South Carolina | I have feed a little over 5 pints of colostrum/milk today. The calf seems to be much stronger tonight than earlier. When I got home from Church tonight it was standing in the doghouse. After feeding tonight it walked out of the doghouse and was walking around the pen a little.
When feeding it really went after the bottle for about a pint and a quarter. My guess is it was about full. I kept after it until it finished the bottle. The calf is extremely light, I am guessing around 30 pounds. It is off a registered Angus bull and a sale barn special. The suspected mother has always raised a healthy calf, and is taking good care of the suspected twin.
I am feeling much better about this calfs chances but I do not think she is out of the woods yet.
Thanks to Everyone for your suggestion on helping with this calf.
