Subject: Knee surgery recovery?

Missouri
So a couple weeks ago at school I slipped and twisted my knee. I went to the doctor last Monday and Friday I had a MRI and blood work done. They said I have a dislocated fracture, leaking bone marrow and an infection I think... Can't quite remember. But the thing is I have absolutely no pain and I can walk normally! So tomorrow I'm going to Columbia to have them check it out and schedule for knee surgery. So how long can it take to recover from something like this? I don't like the idea of having to use crutches or knee braces because I have to carry the around and I'm a very active person. And i hate the thought of having to set around waiting to recover. Oh I'm also 18.

I think they MIGHT have said I tore a ligament or two?.. Can't remember
