Subject: Mac and quickbooks

Southwest IL
For the last 12 years I've been running a windows based PC and using farmworks. The ole girl is still running on Vista and getting quite glitchy, anyways I think It's time for an upgrade. Vista is becoming unsupported by some applications. I've always had an Iphone and feel That it is a really good product so I am considering going to a MAC. Are you guys running Mac's happy with them?
I really like the way farmworks has worked for my bookkeeping, but it really seems a little overpriced to me, so I am considering Quickbooks. What version of quickbooks do you guys run? It looks like the PRO version is only available for Windows machines? Can you break down expenses and income at a "per field" level with quickbooks? It looks like you can buy Microsoft office for the Mac, does anybody run office on a Mac? Does Apple have programs comparable to office and excel.......I dont think I can survive without Excel!!!
TIA, I really appreciate any advice given
