Subject: RE: Mac and quickbooks

We switched to Mac about 5 years ago now. Love the Mac would hate to go back. Have run Quickbooks for a long time now and like it, does what we need without being too complicated and time consuming. Easy to learn.

We have run the Mac version of QB, but it I was doing it again I would put Parallels on the Mac and run the Windows version of QB on the virtual machine. We do that now with a couple of other software programs that are Windows only and have no problems at all. The Mac version of QB works but has a lot of little convenience items that are missing compared to the Windows version. For what ever reason Intuit treats the Mac version like the red headed stepchild. Intuits pride and joy (cash cow) is their online versions, but we felt they were totally out of line in price.

Set up a Dropbox account and make it the default site for QB to save your files and you have free off site backup in the clouds too.

Might ask your accountant about it and see if they have a preference. We use QB but it is on a server that our accountant runs so it doesn't matter if you use a Mac or a PC.
