Subject: Another drone question?

Central Kansas
Absolutely don't know a thing about one, other than what I have read and observed here on NAT. Can people of my age (grew up listening to the Beatles in my teen years) so you can figure that out from that, successfully learn to fly one? I would like to scout fields, video harvest and planting operations etc. Do I understand that you have to have a big screen I-Pad or whatever to view what the camera is seeing? Kind of a one man operation here, so say for example, could I set the planter tractor on auto steer and "Fly" the drone from inside the cab while making a swath, looking at the screen, hover the little guy while turning around and continue to film an fly on the next pass?

Sorry for so many questions. Wife mentions that I ought to get one, (Christmas gift) but my biggest fear is the little guy would get in front of an implement and not survive, as in crash and crunch!
