A couple of interesting links turned up in my inbox today. The first one goes into Australian feedlot costs and income at the moment, thought it may be of interest. Apparently feeders are losing about $20 a head at todays prices. Second one shows returns for US feeders over time. I will add the graph if you don't want to read the articles. Is this a fair representation of the industry and has profitability been this bad over time? I may be missing something but if that's right how do feeders stay in business making losses like that year after year. http://www.beefcentral.com/lotfeeding/grainfed-cattle-price-rise-cant-stem-20-loss-in-latest-100-day-trading-budget/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Beef+Central+news+headlines+August+27+2015&utm_content=Beef+Central+news+headlines+August+27+2015+CID_e0fb63d49b916d7eb373f7b204a1df33&utm_source=eGenerator&utm_term=Grainfed%20cattle%20price%20rise%20cant%20stem%2020%20loss%20in%20latest%20100-day%20trading%20budget http://www.beefcentral.com/lotfeeding/comparing-us-feedlot-profitability-with-australias-finds-common-ground/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Beef+Central+news+headlines+August+27+2015&utm_content=Beef+Central+news+headlines+August+27+2015+CID_e0fb63d49b916d7eb373f7b204a1df33&utm_source=eGenerator&utm_term=Comparing%20US%20feedlot%20profitability%20with%20Australias%20finds%20common%20ground
