N FLA | My backyard bottle calf has a pile of maggots on his navel. I can see them on his back too but they are few and tiny. I suspect they are migrating to his navel.
He started attracting flies this week, actually they blew up on the whole cow herd this week. I am going to wash the caalf and get fly spray. I bathed him on Wednesday to wash milk and poo off. So ive tried to keep him as clean as ai can. Soap and water may rinse them off, but anything else to do about this navel covered in maggots?
His health is going the right way. Hope this isn't a big setback. | |
