| If you were a '60's baby-boomer Rock and Roller like me, you might have listened to AM radio in the evenings. One of the biggest was KOMA out of Oklahoma City. 50,000 Watts of "Coast to Coast and Border to Border" top 40 stuff.
The KOMA tower was actually located in the suburb of Moore, Ok., and had survived a goodly number of tornadoes which struck Moore over the years......but it finally met its match last Wednesday evening. Another tornado in Moore's difficult history finally got it.
The onset of FM music in the 70's caused KOMA to back off of its "top 40" format, and it went country later on. But it's still been there all of these years.....but just in a more "low key" manner.
Not that I know anything about their business, but I assume they'll be back in business soon........Just a comment on the passage of time....showboat | |
