I understand that soil organic matter increases as tillage decreases. i.e. No Till farming practices build soil organic matter. I have heard recently from organic farmers that they believe their organic matter increased after switching to organic farming practices. This seems contradicting as they use more tillage than anyone one else. Does anyone have ideas or explanations on this?
