Subject: Silo Cables

Eastern ON

Just thought I'd share a pic that will make anyone with a silo ill. We went through a cable rather quickly last year and weren't sure why until we inspected the pulley.

pulley

At some point in it's life the shaft decided to seize onto the pulley. Now, the shaft could still EASILY turn in the bracket but for some stupid reason the manufacturer had a key through the shaft spot welded to keep that from happening. So instead the 3 cables slowly ground their way through the pulley and started on the shaft before we caught it. Luckily local silo shop had the exact bracket and pulley to replace that. I checked our second silo and it just started happening on it as well. Hopefully I can get the wheel loosened and spinning again on it because it's bracket is actually built into the hexapod.

Grease fitting on these would have been great.
