Seaforth, Ontario | We have one corner of roof that doesn't get much sun to keep ice from forming in the eavestrough; as a result we get massive ice damming. I climb ladder and chop ice away to make a channel for water to flow down, but it can be almost daily chore. Biggest problem area is a V between 2 roof sections. One roof is newly shingled, while the other is older steel. Has anyone installed one of those de-icing cables and had luck with them. Other problem may be insufficient insulation. |
