central PA | Hey guys I figured this would be better asked here than machinery talk since us livestock guys are the only ones to use corn pickers anymore. I bought a new idea 325 picker with the 12 roll husking bed and brought it home today, then I tried picking a load to grind for my calves and lambs. My problem lies in that I end up having stalks build up in the elevator and stop feeding instead of the snapping rolls taking only the ears off. What can I do to try and get it to just snap the ear off and not break the stalk as well? Don't have a manual for it and have only used a picker once before. Would love to get this sorted out as I am planning on picking around 15 acres with it. Using our allis chalmers 8010 on it in 1st low, and at 540 pto speed.
Thanks for any help!! | |
