Iowa | Does any one like a keen-sert or time-sert for thread repair better than the other? They both look better than a heli-coil to me but are more expensive. Right now I need to fix a pan bolt that broke off on in a 3406E cat at the rear that goes into the the flywheel housing (Aluminum). I made a jig and got the old one drilled out square and true with out getting into the aluninum but the bolt feels a little sloppy for my liking. One thing I see is the time-serts have a smaller O.D. allowing for less orignal material to be drilled out. Thanks for any info. | |
