Subject: stalk or stump puller into coc

68340

Using a JD 7300 planter with Dawn trash whips, no GPS. Planting into coc about 220 to 240 bu.

Do you need to have your corn ridged each year to use a stalk puller and plant into the top of the ridge?

or

Can you plant, not cultivate and pull stumps the next spring, to have a cleaner area to plant into ?

I have used a McFarlane rolling stalk chopper with harrow, but it does not really cut up the trash that much and the stalks are very subject to blow into piles.  Can't plant through that mess.  The McFarlane is not the answer for me.

Not sure what to do.  Disc twice each year ?  Hmmmmmm.
